BELEK
|
|
On the Mediterranean coast in
an area known as the Turkish Riviera, Belek is a favoured destination
for Turkey's jetset as well as a wide range of international visitors.
It's ideally placed, being 27km east of Antalya airport and close to
Antalya city, the region's capital. With its impressively long beach,
Belek attracts its fair share of sun worshippers.
Belek is also a paradise for golfers, boasting three top quality courses,
as well as tennis courts for the more athletic. At night most guests
stay at the hotels, taking advantage of the excellent facilities on
offer, although there are a few bars and restaurants two kilometres away.
|
A great resort for families and couples who value quality accommodation
in a tranquil setting surrounded by spectacular scenery. There are
first class holiday resorts and hotels in Belek suitable for non golf
family holidays. All are of 5 star standards offering an excellent range
of leisure facilities, both for the golfer and non golfer. There is
plenty to see and do in the area, away from the golf course. For those
who would prefer, there are also lots of self catering apartments and
villas close to the golfing area as an alternative to all inclusive
hotel accommodation.

Car hire can be arranged for
people staying both in the hotels or self catering accommodation. With
the development of the area, so the infrastructure of facilities has
grown. There are many restaurants and shops now which is a benefit to
those preferring to go self catering. Belek offers the tourist sun,
sea, sand, forests and golf. The forest is predominantly pine trees and
these are unique to any of the other species. They appear to be similar
to a nearly extinct variety of pine from the hills near the Bosphorus,
with tall trunks and branches that open out like umbrellas. The forest
is not dense, and therefore it is easy to take walks beneath them.
Alternatively, you can go horse riding through the forest. There are a
number of stables that offer riding lessons and trekking tours. |
Belek by Day
From your base it is never far to one of the growing number of golf
courses in the area. Alternatively, there are areas of outstanding
beauty to explore, including the Kursunlu Waterfall, the Koprulu
National Park and Canyon and the fantastic coastline. For shopping it is
a short trip along the coast to Antalya or simply relax by the pool or
on a local beach.
Belek by Night
As tourism grows so does Belek's facilities and, for those not
enjoying all-inclusive hotel hospitality, there are a growing number of
bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes. Belek enjoys a
Mediterranean climate so whilst it tends to be warm even in the winter
months it is sometimes necessary to wear a light jumper or similar in
the evenings.
